Intermittent Fasting¶
Intermittent fasting (IF) involves cycling between periods of eating and periods of fasting. By extending the time between meals, insulin levels drop and the body is encouraged to burn stored fat. IF can be combined with low-carb diets for an even greater impact on insulin reduction. Research suggests that fasting protocols improve insulin sensitivity and aid in weight management.1
