Obesity

Obesity is frequently accompanied by elevated insulin levels. Insulin acts as a fat-storage hormone, encouraging the body to store excess energy as adipose tissue. As insulin resistance develops, the pancreas produces even more insulin, making weight loss difficult. Research indicates that carbohydrate restriction can significantly lower insulin and promote fat loss while preserving lean mass.1
