Cardiovascular Disease¶
Chronically elevated insulin contributes to high triglycerides, low HDL cholesterol, and increased inflammation—all risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Interventions that lower insulin, such as carbohydrate restriction and regular exercise, have been shown to improve lipid profiles and reduce inflammatory markers.1
